Your donation could be worth additional funds to Fields of Life at no extra cost to you!

Republic of Ireland Taxpayers

Your donation adds additional funds to Fields of Life. The remarkable thing is that this windfall is at no extra cost to you! Claiming tax relief on your donation is an effortless source of funding for us each year. However, in order to make the claim we need your cooperation and authorisation. In the Republic of Ireland residents, if you donate more than €250 in the tax year (January to December); we can claim additional funding from the Irish government.

How does it work?

A Tax Relief form will be forwarded to you if you have donated more than €250 for the previous year. If you would complete this form and return it via post to us, we can then send this on to the Tax Office.  If you are self-assessed, you can make the claim directly. Please e-mail info@fieldsoflife.com for more information and a more detailed explanation of the process.

UK Taxpayers

What is the process?

We will forward a Gift Aid form, and you just complete and sign the declaration. Please notify us if you want to sign up to Gift Aid, or if your tax status changes, by e-mailing us at info@fieldsoflife.com.  In the subject field of the e-mail, please specify, "Gift Aid".  Alternatively, you can download and print a Gift Aid Declaration, then sign it and post it to our Northern Ireland Office

How do I know if I'm a UK taxpayer?

You are a UK taxpayer if:
• Tax is taken from your wages or salary before you receive your pay.
• You have to fill in a self-assessment form each year.
• You have any taxable savings or a pension plan, or investment income.
• If you have recently paid any capital gains tax, or expect to pay it in the near future. This could be on the sale of a property or some shares, for example.

If any of these apply to you, please complete and return your declaration.  We can then process the Gift Aid request on your donations.  It is important to note here that inheritance tax does not count as UK income tax.

What if I don't pay UK tax?

Simply notify us when you receive the form, and we will note it for future reference.

What if I'm a higher-rate taxpayer?

Fields of Life can still only claim back at the basic rate but please complete and return the declaration anyway. You should be able to tick a box on your self-assessment tax return form nominating Fields of Life to receive the additional funding.

What if I'm a lower-rate taxpayer?

If you pay a lower rate (10 per cent or 20 per cent), Fields of Life can still claim back funding from your donation, provided you pay enough tax to cover the claim in the tax year you make the gift(s).

If I complete and return the Gift Aid declaration, does that commit me to giving money?

No. It simply means that if you have donated on the threshold amount during the previous year, we can claim extra funding from Inland Revenue for every £1 donated.

Who will have access to this information about me?

The information you provide is protected by the Fields of Life Privacy Policy.  The information will only be known to Fields of Life and  the Inland Revenue.  Please review our Privacy Policy if you need clarification on how your details will be treated.

What if I send my donations via CAF (the Charities Aid Foundation)?

If you make donations via CAF, tax has already been reclaimed, but please fill in the declaration form anyway so that any separate donations you might make can be tax effectively.

Australian Taxpayers

The ATO requires a charity to function for a minimum of one year before it will grant tax deductibility. For this reason, at present donations made through Fields of Life Australia are not tax deductible.
