What has Fields of Life achieved?
Fields of Life has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 1997, when Fields of Life Academy was built in Uganda. Since then we have expanded the work into the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and, more recently, Sudan.
- Over 100 Schools will have been built and fully functional by the end of 2010.
- 41,000 children are currently being educated.
- 3,300 children are currently being sponsored.
- In total, 4000 children have been sponsored since the Sponsorship Programme began in 1997. It started with 80 children sponsored in 1997.
- An Education Programme for monitoring educational standards has been implemented.
- Staff house have been built at 31 of the schools
- 4 heath facilities have been built.
- A schools primary and preventative care programme initiated
- A sexual health programme running over 80% of schools.
- 101 wells have been drilled and are providing communities
with clean, safe drinking water.
- 6-8 wells per month are being drilled providing communities with clean, safe drinking water.
- Fields of Life runs and manages its own drilling rig which has reduced the cost of a well by approx. 50%
- Over 1,975 households in over 36 schools have benefited from Gifts of Life.
- 340 families have received loans to fund new income generating projects.
- Our supporters thoughtfully contributed over £24,000 in farm animals, mosquito nets, pencil cases, sewing machines, and various other items in 2010.
- A total of 77 life-changing, Short-Term Mission Teams will have been out to East Africa by the end of 2010.
- 21 church planters are currently being supported.
