Over the last number of years Child Outreach in Fields of Life has greatly expanded. All schools associated to Fields of Life are now participating in this great commission. Teachers from various schools gather together once a term for training, sharing, encouragement and mutual support.
The results of these seminars are quite amazing. Teachers have now acquired new knowledge and skills. One teacher commented, "We are now teaching the Bible rather than just telling stories." "I was also witness to one of these seminars and I was so encouraged by their enthusiasm and exuberance," remarked Trevor. Certainly the children will not be bored listening in their class. God has touched many of the children's lives in these schools. This is so exciting to see. Not only are their lives being changed but also their families and even the wider community.
Meet the Fields of Life
Child Outreach Co-ordinator
Irene Mwesigwa, the Fields of Life Child Outreach Co-ordinator oversees all Christian programmes for the children in schools constructed by FOL. The aim of these programmes is to provide the children with ethical and moral teachings which will edify their upbringing. Irene, working with other members of staff, tries to ensure that the children are exposed to the teachings of the Bible. Irene periodically meets with teachers to train and review the programme and materials provided.
