HOPE+BUILDERS

Hope Builders exists to promote the Christian faith and values by relieving poverty in the developing world. We do this through carrying out building projects in Uganda. Our Aim is to recruit 100 men who will go to Uganda in teams of 30 each year for 2-3 weeks at a time.

Teams are made up of a Chaplain, skilled and unskilled building workers: a doctor, a cook and an engineer/mechanic. Teams usually have a ratio of two (2) to three (3) skilled workers, to one (1) to three (3) unskilled. We live on site in our own special 6m steel containers. Two containers have sleeping accomodation for 30 men while the other has a kitchen with a gas cooker, fridge etc. The containers provide secure storage for our building equipment which includes generators, scaffolding, cement mixer, diesel saw etc. The containers are transported to each site prior to the team's arrival. All are well insulated and ventillated and have 12 volt lighting and built in fans.
