We believe that volunteers are an essential element of Fields of Life’s development. Fields of Life is a non-profit organisation, so we cannot employ full-time staffs to undertake all tasks. In order not to short-change those with whom we are attempting to help, and to fully realise and achieve our aims and goals, we rely on people to donate their time and talents, just as surely as we rely on financial support. You can make a significant contribution to our organisation and help to change the lives of people in East Africa. You have skills, time, knowledge and a dynamic social network that is essential to the flexibility and diversity that has helped us to grow and achieve our goals. We very much value the time, talents, energy; enthusiasm and experience that all of our volunteers give freely to our organisation, so it is our hope that you will find the information provided here enlightening and helpful.
Although many volunteer for altruistic reasons, it is in our nature to expect something in return for volunteering. Volunteering can be viewed as a service not only to others but for ourselves. As you give of your time and talents, you will receive personal benefits. The experience of most of our volunteers is that the joy and satisfaction they receive from serving with Fields of Life is greater than their contribution. It is our hope that we have as much to offer you, as you have to offer to us. If you take a moment to answer a few quick online questions that may be as thought-provoking to you as they were to us, you may take the first step in exploring a new adventure by taking the Why Serve? Questionnaire.
