Fields of Life

 The Fields of Life Guesthouses are a more personal alternative to the standard Ugandan hotel experience, and offer personalised service in an attractive location and house. Home-cooked meals are prepared on the premises and provide peace of mind as well as convenience for guests. In addition, lounges are a comfortable area for conversing with other visitors to Uganda and provide a means for guests to share experiences and discuss local attractions and activities.

FOL staff are known for their friendliness, and take their role as local hosts seriously. They enjoy taking the time to educate guests about their culture and way of life. Visitors have the opportunity for a relaxing break in a homely environment, to make new friends and contacts, and to understand the cultures and lifestyles of others.

Meals

• Breakfast: Included in your accommodation cost.
• Evening meals: Please consult with staff about meal times, or special requirements.
• Lunch: Guests have the option of a packed lunch. If you would like a packed lunch, please inform staff the day before. Packed lunches consist of sandwiches (or bread roll), fruit and a drink.

You must inform staff if you have any dietary requirements.

Laundry

We offer a laundry service for our guests at an additional fee.  A few tips to bear in mind regarding our laundry service:

1. Your requirements should be discussed with the Guesthouse Manager either upon check-in, or with as much advance notice as possible.
2. A details costing on a per item pricing basis will be provided to you at the time of check-in.  If a listing of prices is not in your room, please request a copy from the Guesthouse Manager.
3. Please be advised that last minute requests at busier times can be difficult to schedule as the staff have their prescibed duties.
4. You will be required to leave your clothes in the laundry bin in your room, and staff will remove them during cleaning.
5. The charges for laundry range from 500 UGX (Ugandan Shillings)/0.20 EUR (Euro)/0.15 GBP (United Kingdom Pounds)/0.30 AUD (Australian Dollars) to 2,000 UGX (Ugandan Shillings)/0.65 EUR (Euro)/0.56 GBP (United Kingdom Pounds)/1.15 AUD (Australian Dollars).  (Please Note:  Rates are accurate as of 10th June, 2009.  It is advisable to confirm conversion rates prior to travel.)
6. Staff will need to be informed if you do not wish for your clothing to be ironed.
7. Please be advised that clothing can take between two (2) and three (3) days to be returned to you.  If you require them returned sooner, it is always best to discuss this with the Guesthouse Manager as you will be advised regarding the feasiblity of completing it in time you require.
8. All effort will be made to accomodate your requirements.

Conference Room

Our Conference Suite is available for training or group meetings. The cost is 100,000 UGX (Ugandan Shillings) per day. If you are guests with us, this fee is negotiable. The conference suite can accommodate 100 people maximum.
