Fields of Life is a Christian organisation and upholds and subscribes to the Christian ethos and beliefs. Christian teachings form a framework that unifies and structures the nature of our work and our approach. We hope that providing these statements will provide you with a glimpse of the driving forces behind our work, and will illustrate our core beliefs:
- The work of Fields of Life is shaped by the teaching and life of Jesus and holds the convictions outlined in the Lausanne Covenant (http://www.lausanne.org/all-documents/lausanne-covenant.html)
- FOL believes that the key to helping others to help themselves is not to offer handouts, but rather to go to the core of each community, its children, to secure and equip them with the first step to self-sufficiency - an education.
- FOL concurs with the African belief that it takes a community to raise a child.
- Fields of Life is an Endorsing Body of the Micah Challenge AU and endeavors to speak out regarding poverty and injustice in East Africa.
