Ariba Health Centre is located in Abok Sub-County in Oyam District, Northern Uganda where people still believe sharing a water source with animals is a way of life. They have not had the opportunity to access safe, clean water for generations and sadly a number of lives have been lost due to the consumption of this dirty water.
The Health Centre and community members had been walking 1km to access water from an open well which was full of parasites and germs and this caused a lot of water related illnesses within the community; however, they had no other choice and had to continue to use the dirty water.
This new borehole will help to reduce the risk of water-related illness and death. It was the 708th borehole completed by Fields of Life and now supports the Health Centre and 56 surrounding households.
Thank you to the generous donor who has provided this life saving gift!
