Burakango is located in Nyene Sub-County, Oyam District, Northern Uganda and the community here has been depending on an open water source 1km away from the village.
This has meant that the community members had to walk a total distance of 2km to collect contaminated water from the only water source that was available. Many of the community members knew the dangers of using water from such a source and they regularly suffered with illness but they continued to use it because it was all they had available.
This new water source has been very timely for the Burakango community and it will change their lives because they no longer have to walk 2km in the name of looking for contaminated water.
This was the 712th well completed by Fields of Life and now provides fresh water to 65 households.
Thank you to the generous donor who has provided this life saving gift!
