The Gagama Well is located Kakere-Gagama Primary School in Bukedea district in Eastern Uganda where access to safe water is still a big problem and people are forced to drink contaminated water which causes many waterborne diseases such as bilharzia, cholera and typhoid.
Prior to the drilling of the borehole the school children had to walk 2km to collect water from an nearby community. This well was, in most cases, congested with community members and the children had to miss valuable hours in class to access water.
This borehole is benefiting 92 pupils and the surrounding communities, bringing the gift of clean water to many people.
Thank you to the Eddie Johnston for funding the Kakere-Gagama Primary School Well.
