Komoret community is located in Nakapiripiti District in Karamoja, North Eastern Uganda.
Fields of Life has recently constructed the only school in the area. While the community were excited about the school they were very worried about how pupils could attend a school without water. Water scarcity in Karamoja is one of the greatest challenges and they often draw water from ponds in the rainy season and walk a total of 6km during the dry season to a neighbouring community well. The population of the area have faced water scarcity for generations and this has affected their livelihoods.
This new borehole will change lives at the school and within the entire community. The Komoret Community will no longer depend on pond water or walk long distances each day to collect water. This is the 693rd well completed by Fields of Life and now provides fresh water for 73 households.
Thank you to the generous donor who has provided this life saving gift!
