Ogiroi is located in Kwapa Sub-County, Tororo District, Eastern Uganda. The community here has been dependent on a protected water source that is 1km away.
The water source was accessible to the entire community and even if the water quality was questionable the 65 households were very sure of at least being able to get water. Protecting a well is one way of ensuring that a water source stays clean, but it does not guarantee that the water is safe. For Ogiroi–C, protecting their water source was the only available alternative for the community to at least help reduce the potential for contamination.
Now the community has a new borehole to provide safe, clean water for the community members. This is the 729th well completed by Fields of Life.
Thank you to the generous donor who has provided this life saving gift!
