Ogolai is located in Kakure Sub-County in Kaberamaido District, Eastern Uganda.
Many community members here had believed that access to safe, clean water was a luxury because for generations they had been depending on water from contaminated water sources. The Ogolai community had been depending on water from an unprotected open well that was 4km away. The water was contaminated with bacteria and parasites and as a result, many of the community members suffered from water-related illness.
This new water source will transform this community. It means that valuable time is not lost walking to collect water and so children can go to school. It also greatly reduces the risk of water-related disease. This is the 679th well completed by Fields of Life and now provides fresh water for 115 households.
Thank you to the generous donor who has provided this life saving gift!
