Oyam Nursery and Primary School is located in Oyam Town Council in Oyam District, Northern Uganda.
Previously, this pupils and teachers in the school had been walking 2km to a borehole in a nearby community. The borehole was extremely congested which meant that long queues would form to collect water. As a result many pupils were missing valuable hours in school and this was impacting on their education.
This new borehole at Oyam Nursery and Primary School will make a huge impact on the school. With access to clean water there is less risk of the pupils getting sick with water-related illnesses and now they can attend classes and gain a quality education instead of walking for water. This borehole also supports 56 households in the surrounding area providing them with safe, clean water.
This was the 705th borehole completed by Fields of Life.
Thank you to the generous donor who has provided this life saving gift!
