On Friday 11th December 2015, over 400 faithful Fields of Life supporters and friends, attended our “Carols by Candlelight” service in Saint Anne’s Cathedral, for an evening of celebration; with all funds going towards clean water in East Africa.
We were delighted to be joined by the Belfast Community Gospel Choir, who treated us to a fabulous selection of Christmas carols and songs throughout the evening. The Reverend Steve Stockman, from Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, also shared the Christmas Message and Fields of Life Trustee, Dolway Johnston, closed the evening in prayer.
As a result of your generosity, Fields of Life were able to drill a well in a community called Ochagoro, which is located in the Kumi district in eastern Uganda. The consumption of contaminated water was a way of life in this area, and sadly a number of children had been lost due to water related diseases.
This borehole benefits 300 households, with an average of nine members per household. This means that over 2,500 people have received the gift of safe, clean drinking water!
Thank you again to everyone who supported this event, without you this would not be possible!
