Dentist gets her teeth into Charity Himalayan Expedition

In April 2015 Magdalena Kreft, a 36 year old dentist from Wiltshire, took part in a Charity Himalayan Expedition to climb Island Peak, which stands at 20,340 ft above sea level and is located only a few miles from Mt. Everest. As part of her personal challenge, she is supporting Fields of Life Mt. Everest Primary School in Uganda.

Having conquered Mt. Kilimanjaro last year, wearing 4 inch heels, Magda explains why she has decided to do something more challenging!   “I put myself into a very intense training regime to ensure that I was ready to face the mountain. With thanks to the support of my friends, family and my patients I not only reached one of the highest peaks in the Himalaya’s but helped to change the lives for the children at the Mt. Everest Primary school and brought a little hope to those who needed it.”

She headed out to Nepal with one of our ambassadors and experienced climber Ian Taylor. The expedition successfully summited the Island Peak, which stands at 6,189 meters. The team left Kathmandu on Easter Sunday and after climbing in the Himalayas for 14 days they achieved their lofty ambition and conquered Island Peak.
