Fields of Life supporter, Dorothy Jervis is once again opening her garden to raise funds for our water drilling programme. Over the years Dorothy has raised funds for the drilling of 2 boreholes, bringing clean water to more than 3,000 villagers. This year she is hoping to reach enough for a third borehole!
The garden is unique with old-world charm overlooking Donegal Bay. It is a secluded and peaceful garden where the visitor can sit and soak up the atmosphere while enjoying the beauties of nature. A garden of many parts planted with a great variety of herbaceous and shrub borders as well as ornamental trees and an apple orchard, all planted with great variety to give year-round colour and interest.
The garden sits comfortably in its surrounding landscape, facing south with wonderful views over Donegal Bay. Some of the borders are within an old farmyard setting and feature roses and plants from a previous generation. Winner of the DGT ‘Garden of the Year’ Medal 2013, the garden has also featured in both ‘The Irish Garden’ and the UK’s ‘Amateur Gardening’ magazines and is part of Donegal Garden Trail.
