Working in partnership with Arup, Fields of Life have set up a Call Centre in Kampala conducting a remote survey and support project to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on selected rural communities in Uganda.
This project aims to understand the situation on the ground and dispense guidance on preventative/sanitation measures, in accordance with government guidelines.
The call centre provides information on safety measures, social distancing, hygiene practices and challenges rumours and myths. So far we have interviewed 157 communities across Uganda.
- 97% of communities surveyed are affected by COVID-19
- Top impacts include: education, income and food
- In a follow up survey, 71% say their communities attitude to COVID-19 has changed
