FILL JERRY AND SAVE LIVES
The Lent Campaign is back…and this year we would love to have you involved!
Will you join us from 6th March – 18th April as we fill Jerry through Sacrifice?
How does it work? It’s easy, you can sign up as an individual, a church, youth group or school and:
1. Each person commits to giving something up
2. Save the money used for that something
3. Each week put the money in the Jerry Can
4. At the end of Lent we will collect the Jerry Cans
All of the money raised will go towards providing clean water to a community in East Africa.
The gift of a borehole to a village will reduce the number of hours spent walking long distances to collect water. Furthermore, it will allow girls to go to school and greatly reduce the risk of attack on girls. It will also reduce the number of water related diseases and death.
The Lent Campaign 2016 borehole was drilled at Bridge Primary School in Kiwoko, Luwero District, Central Uganda which now provides 300 pupils and also 120 households with clean water.
In 2017, a Lent Campaign borehole was drilled in Paragang village, Tororo District, Eastern Uganda which now provides clean water for 80 households.
And in 2018 a Lent Campaign borehole was drilled in Nyakesi village, Tororo District, Eastern Uganda which now provides clean water for 130 households.
WHAT IMPACT CAN WE MAKE IN 2019?
