Sinead McKeever travelled to Uganda in August with the Cultiv8 to work at God Cares Christian Primary School and Maranatha Secondary School, Mityana. She has shared her experience with us below:
“Uganda for me is the most special place on earth. In August 2015 I embarked on my fourth trip to the pearl of Africa. I travelled as part of a very young and enthusiastic team all equally blessed to be given such a wonderful opportunity.
I got married 4 weeks before the trip, but not even that could stop me 🙂 those red dusty roads and beautiful people lured me back.
The best thing about Uganda for me are the children. They are so loving, beautiful and warm. Their smiles are infectious and they are always ready with a song and a dance for their visitors! Each experience I have had in Uganda has been a different one but all equally amazing! I have made life long friendships and have learned a lot about myself. Visiting Uganda always makes me reflect on my life and I always try to help others, especially those less fortunate.
I now have 4 big pieces of my heart there and cannot wait to get back to leave the 5th!
Richard Mullen sums it up well
‘The only man I envy is the man who has not yet been to Africa…for he has so much to look forward to'”
